Addition is nothing more than saying: I now have a certain number of objects. I'm going to get some more of the same objects. How many of these objects will I have when I'm finished?

Rather than continually count every time you want to add some items, we have definite rules establishing the totals of any two single digit numbers. You will find all of these rules in the addition table.
